Virtual: African Wars and Its Militaries in the 21st Century Economic and Security Determinants for a Stable Continent

On behalf of the Center for the Study for Africa and the African Diaspora (CSAAD), and in concert with the Center for Global Affairs, the Initiative for the Study of Emerging Threats, and the Joint Civil-Military Interaction Research and Education Network, you are cordially invited to participate in the virtual expert workshop event, African Wars in the 21st Century: Economic and Security Determinants for a Stable Continent.

Date: 14th of April

Time: 8:00 am-12:00 pm ET

The format of the workshop is discussion-based, with questions tailored around indigenous economic practices and informal networks as stabilization mechanisms; regional ad-hoc initiatives; and the role of the private actors in the regionalization of security responses.

Workshop participants will be sent questions beforehand and are encouraged to critically examine and identify challenges as well as opportunities that can support local, state, and regional stabilization mechanisms in reimagining human security.
